i have 128mb pc133 of ram on my system, and i was think of adding 128 more.
do you think that is wise to buy more ram since now all ram is not going to be "sd"ram anymore?

My vote is if you need it, get it. If RAM still cost $40+ per Meg (that's $320 for 8 Meg) as it did in 1995, it would be a concern. However, at just about $0.50 per Meg, people around here are stock-piling the stuff. Unless you plan to junk your machine within a year, you'll get plenty of use out of it. Moreover, if you ARE planning to replace it, why are you considering an upgrade?

Agree.

It's gonna be a bit before DDR memory goes into full swing.

And, at the current prices, the only way it can go is up. i sold my old 48MB of EDO and got enough to buy 128MB PC133 Kingston with some change left over!!! (i sold it for $30, buy.com had the kingston for $55 - $10 coupon - $20 mail-in-rabate = $25)

Yea EDO is pretty high these days (out of production I guess) I happen to have 256MB of it in a comp here (orignally all mine had EDO, whenever I replaced it I just stuffed more in this box. 8 ram slots rules!) I get great benifit from 256 over 128, some don't see the diff, just depends what you do I guess.
As for being phased out, it'll be a while before DDR takes over, and even when it does it can always be relogated to a secondary box.

Well if you are running win98/me then more ram proably wouldn't help you that much. However, more ram is good ram as I say. If you have the money go for it...

When people ask me how much ram I have, I just say "not enough!"

Remember, more ram is good ram...except on a TX chipset!
