I have a GeForce 3 Ti200 vid card with latest nVidia driver, but am wondering how you go about removing the old driver and installing the new driver when an upgrade becomes available. If you go to Start>Control Panel>Add Remove Programs and select the current driver and remove it, how does the monitor work so you can d/load and install the newest driver after you reboot? I hope I've explained my question so it's understandable. :(
1. Download the newer drivers.
2. Go to Add/Remove and uninstall your present.
3. Restart the computer as requested.
4. It will boot-up with 16/256-color interface and ask you for updated driver.
5. If your drivers are unpacked, then point it the location of .INF file. If the drivers are within packed .EXE file, then install as "Standard VGA Adapter" (or similar), then run the driver installer.
6. Good luck :)

Thanks ND. That makes sense to this 'puter illiterate mind, as to how the new driver gets installed after you remove the old driver.

Another question ND, or anyone. One night I was playing around with this new OS, Windows XP Home, and selected the video card in the Device Manager. I clicked Update Driver and was prompted to insert the Driver (video card) CD.
Following your steps ND, I don't see anything mentioned by you about inserting the CD. I'm assuming I don't insert the CD if I follow your instructions. Thanks for the additional help/direction.
5. If your drivers are unpacked, then point it the location of .INF file.
Quoting myself
It doesn't matter where the drivers are. Besides, WinXP has native GeForce drivers within (lacking OpenGL support :( ).
