a very good one. I bet if you coupled a P2 2.4ghz 512MB DDR and a Geforce4 ti4600 you would break the 10,000 barrier

A decent computer can break it 10,000 if you tweak it well enough. By that I mean say a XP1700+ with DDR Memory and Radeon 8500 or GeForce 4 Ti 4200.

some systems may at first be way below the 10k mark... Most systems you see on gamershq at madonion have been tweaked to the max... I mean, overclocked in every way imaginable, have a million little registry, cache, swapfile, and driver tweaks that take a lot of time. 10k is well within reach of any of the newer systems to date, but even a Radeon 8500 on an Athlon XP 1600+
can get there with the right amount of tweaking.

the thin that ive noticed is that many purchases are based on what 3dmark score they get so it seems to me that if you want to sell a card. Optimise it so that it will run well on 3dmark so that you will get 100's of buyers as in its view its faster than a GF4ti4600 when actually is isnt

I have broken the 10K mark with something like 10390 or something like that with the default test i.e. 1024 x 768 with the 3dMARK 2001 SE!
I have the GEforce 4 Ti 4600, 512 DDR RAM and a 2.26 Ghz processor without overclocking. Hell knows what it will be if I overclocked it!
