creating a forum//design website

hey everyone,

i was designing a website and i want to add a forum directory. with about 6 forums in the directory. does anyone know of some free and simple software where i can create a forum?

i dont mind it saying.. powered by so and so

but i dont want a forum that would be linked to another website. such as the forum address would be www.gamers.com/forums/mypage/comments.html

id rather have it such as.. www.mypage.com/forums/comments.html


i also havent had time to set up my server so i created the page on geocities.. can someone make some suggestions for me?

i want to create this in flash instead of html but i dont remember much flash :O havent used it hardcore in several years

some other ideas i had were to make a horizontal menu bar under the logo instead of at the right

another idea was to kill the logo. and at the bottom under news, i would have the words www.proving-grounds.com with some sort of flashy design using lightning

does anyone happen to have a nice backround i can use for this instead of being plain black?

Not sure if this is a lot of help, but try ikonboard.com. Than you can adjust it to whatever you want. YOu can set it up in about 30 min, everything, from colors to the names and so on. You can set it up even less if you dl a SKIN for it.

Well, just thought that I should add that if you dont
know Flash, there is another program that maybe
can help you. Its called Swish 2.0, and you can find
it at http://www.downloads.com

This is a make-flash-thingies without knowing anything
about flash. Nice.
