I had W98SE on C: & XP(professional)on D:
I had to reload W98se but can't acess xp now.Bipolar Bill suggested I just press repair at option screen. The only repair option I have is from recovery console-it's asking for admin password which I never added or dont know.I don't want to lose my existing xp.How do I restore duel boot option & start up screen to select which OS?:(

Start a normal install of XP but then select to repair the install.

It's easy enough to delete the old OS & reload it but I have a years worth of updates & personal stuff. Will a new install just copy over the old os & leave files in tact like it does when you reinstall w9x os's.

Bill
helped me with this before.... you start the box with the xp cd in the drive the first time it ask you would you like to repair or do a clean install... go with the clean install.. then it will look for other versions of windows you will see your XP directory when you select the XP partion you choices are to clean install or repair.. THATS when you select repair... and XP will setup and you don't lose any thing
