I did a system restore and in the process lost a very important picture. I sent this picture to a friend who has AOL, which I know nothing about. She deleated it. My question is how do I find her deleated mail folder so I can retrive this picture. She doesn't know anything about AOL either. Thanks for any help! Julayne:(

Depends on how it was deleted. If it was deleted from the AOL mail screen, it might still be in the personal filing cabinet (PFC). If deleted from the PFC, it's gone. Have her look in her PFC.

Thanks for the info. I told her to look in her PFC. She doesn't know where that is. Like I said she knows NOTHING about AOL. She called AOL and they told her that any thing she deletes will be permanently removed after 24 hours. That doesn't sound right to me. Does it to you? Sooooo how does she get to her PFC. Julayne

If I remember correctly, PFC (personal filing cabinet) can be opened from the taskbar (top left of AOL screen).
But if AOL says it's gone after 24hrs, I wouldn't hold out much hope of retrieving it from the AOL folder.
What you could try is (read this part as many times as you need 'til you understand what I mean)...
1. creating a new restore point (now)
2. restoring to the time just before you did your previous restore (undo the restore)
3. save the picture to a safe folder (preferably on a second drive\floppy\CD-R)
4. then restore again to your newly created point (now)
5. reload the prized file from wherever you saved it.
Hope this helps

Strawbs, I Did the restore, back to before I did the restore. That didn't work. I don't know why. Maybe I got the date wrong I'll try it again. Thanks.
