Just got an aleart that Norton Personal Firewall blocked Back Orafice 2000 Trogan?
inbound UDP packet
Local address,service is ("myPC's name",Back-Orifice)
Remote address,service is(blah blah)
Process name is "N/A"
Its prolly nothing but was just curious if it could realy have been an attack? Is there anything extra I should do?

Block it. Back Orifice does exactly what its name implies -- it creates a back door into your PC, through which hackers can remove files. Your firewall seems to be adequate protection, though.
I have MacAfee VirusScan, but I know it doesn't detect trojans. Can anyone point me to a utility that can seek out and destroy trojan horse programs?

Oh, and by the way, Mykex, have you ever heard the story where the greek army offered the trojans a giant wooden horse? Well, when the Greeks left it outside the gates of Troy, as a gift of surrender, the trojans unwittingly rolled the horse inside the walls. Unbeknownst to the trojans, there were Greek soldiers inside, just waiting. That night, when the city slept, the Greek soldiers emerged and burned and fought and ended up destroying much of Troy. That's where the term "Trojan Horse" comes from.
Keegan and Mykex,
Check this post out. It discusses anti virus programs:

I hope I am all set with programs....running PC-cillin2000,blackIce Defender,Norton2000 AV and Personal Firewall if have anything else enabled I may need more ram. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gifThe name of the offending probe just perked my curiosity and wondered if anyone else has run into it. I Samspaded it but didnt get anything I think it was the net at the time though.
Between those 4 progs running surprisingly well together not much will go un-noticed and I usually just block the offender and move on. The other thing that bugged me is Norton Firewall was the only one 2 detect it usually anything gets detected by 2 or more of the 4 programs.

If you need a prog to check your sytem for trojans, then check out the following site. Look for "The Cleaner"
www.moosoft.com (http://www.moosoft.com)
You`ll be able to download a trial version. It works pretty well, and picks up every trojan I can think of. I have SubSeven and BO installed on my system, and it certainly picks those up. I would say they are the most common. Netbus is another common one.....
