Hey Sysopt Community,

I looking to buy a new CDRW. I have looked in to Plextor, Lite on, and Asus. I would like to get at least a 32x burner. Any comments on the one that I have looked at or any suggestions on any others.

Thanks in advance.

If you're looking for a good burner, but don't want to spend a lot for that Plextor with burn-proof, go with a TDK VeloCD. They are excellent quality and you can get a 40x at around $100 if you look hard enough. I use mine all the time and havn't had one problem with it. Hope this helps!:D

By the way, they also come with Burn-proof, too.

Get THAT TEAC. That BP is showing you. Wish I would have found it when in the market for one. A its a dvd aswell. B. its got 8mb buffer most have only 2mb in the $100 range and the buffer is just as important if not more than just burn or burn proof! Of course it also has burn-proof. But they all about do. that was new years ago, now its standard. My bro. forked over big $ for burn proof when it first came out. Now its expected but the higher mb cahce is def. where its at!

its a dvd aswell. Actually, it's not a DVD. That's just the way that BUY specs them. It's still a real good deal and a drive that rates in the top 5. It's a retail box too - with software and other sundry items.

Look no further: The absolute must of CDRW's (now that they topped the speed ratings and gonna be no faster than that).

I think u should go with Yamaha...that CRW F1 is a real good one at 44x...but may be a little expensive.

Frankly, considering the dearth of 40x media, a 32-40x drive would save money and do the job just fine.

The Tech is good.

But personal i'd stick with the Asus or Lite-on(for games) or the Plextor(for audio)

Plextor has a good reputation.

If you got the money, definitely go for Plextor. Otherwise, Smasung has some fast and cheap drives also...
