Hi all, I have a friend who is trying to video conference with someone in france using MSN Messenger and the 'start camera' facility the person in france run win ME the person in England runs Win XP both have the same version 4.6 (4.60082) but cannot connect via video.

They can talk using 'Start Talk' but thats it.

Can I connect to the Win ME computer using Win XP remote assistance facility?

and are there any issues regarding this problem?

There is a download for win2k to use the remote assistance, I am not sure for ME though. I searched the knowledge base, but you might have your friend with ME go to Windows Update, that is where I download the Remote Assistant for 2k.

Hi all, thanks for the help and advice, still no luck.

Update: the person in france running win ME can see the webcam image coming from the Xp system and can also hear sound

but the XP person cannot see the webcam image coming from the ME system but can hear sound.

None of these people are running firewalls

The XP sys has Norton systemworks which includes a virus scanner

best regards
