Dear Sir/mdadam?

I am looking for peoples views as to which AntiVirus program appears to be the best? Personally, I use Innoculate-It from Computer Associates. It is a free program and is updated too. This can be found at www.cai.com. (http://www.cai.com.)

Help appreciated.

Thanks

My .02 worth --

I use Norton and PC-cillin. They work well together and generally, what one doesn't catch, the other will.

I like Nortons, I always seem to go back to it. I've tried others and have had them let me down, Nortons seems to be right on all the time.

I use Nortons Systemworks 2000 and 2001 for virus protection. I know people who have used McAfee, and been disappointed by it. I just get SystemWorks because I find WinDoctor and Cleansweep very useful programs in addition to the anti-virus program.
That's just my $0.02

I use NAV v5, always with current virus database update, due to some strange bug in 2000/2001, when it sometimes fail to detect Win95.CIH virus ...
If NAV fails, I invoke AVP/X by Kaspersky Labs http://www.avp.com/ , also very nice and powerful, when to of them work together, nothing remains in the system ...

Best Regards ...

I use NAV 2001 and it does its job... I used to use NAV 2000 which had a known issue with hanging from time to time on NTFS partitions (which it did on my system using Win2K and NTFS from time to time doing a FULL SCAN OF ALL DISKS...) Using NAV 2001 solved that problem...

I've been using Symantec Anti-Vius Programs for quite some time now....Believe it or not, I haven't had a single virus on any of my systems for over 8 years....

I use Innoculate IT also, its free and it rocks. For what it's worth, thats what NATO uses for its supply and maintainance network.

I use Innoculate IT. It seems to work. But the biggest thing I do to try to keep viruses off my computer is not to let them in!

I use Hotmail and read my e-mail from the Mickey $oft computers. I respond with Outlook Express! I grab my POP3 e-mails through Hotmail also! I prescreen the POP3s with ICQ!

I use AVP (now AVX) it was recommended by a hacker so... ( www.avp.com (http://www.avp.com) )

I like the fact that it has a trojan directory 4 times larger thant hat of NAV.

daveleau, actually AVP & AVX are two different products. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I do have experience with AVP and it is good stuff. At home I use Norton Anti-Virus 2001 as personally I've always been a fan of Symantec's products.

See AVP's explaination of AVP & AVX
