Where's the Sound/Multimedia Forum?!

Well, I was suprised there wasnt a sound/multimedia forum anywhere on here. Anyways, I am having problems with my Creative SB Live! X-Gamer and was in the market for a new video card. Preferrably not one too expensive (under $100). I saw reviews on Diamonds MX-300 I think it was based on the A3D chipset. I am not sure what to get though, so I thought I'd come here and get all of Sysopt's opinions! Please help me on this matter.

I wouldn't put my money in MX300 card, Aureal is out of business for a very long time now (sold out to Creative), drivers for newer (WinXP) OSes are a constant issue :(

ahh thanks. i dont know what to go with though, I see Audigy near the top of everything I need, but I am getting salty products from Creative. My CD-Rom didnt work, my mp3 player isnt properly working, and now my sound card. I'm not sure...
I wont go Hercules that's for sure. They have crappiest support ever. I threw away my Hercules gfx card after I couldnt get help, then bought an ATI Radeon 8500. Can I have opinions on sound card owner's cards? What works great with no troubles.

What OS are you using? Santa Cruz seems to be popular these days for people who are tired of dealing with creative. You mention needing a video card but you have one of the best out there plus ati released new drivers recently.
