Tag was banned when I was a kid in the 1950s because the school was overcrowded and there was simply no room to run. It was't tag that was banned. It was running in the yard during lunch and recess. We ran during PE.

There are a lot of things a lot of kids don't like, it doesn't mean we can just ban things. My brothers can't even use back packs in school-- they're banned, too, as are hats and coats. BS if you ask me.
