My crappy system is currnetly:
CII 433
PC Chips M726MRT (what a piece of ****, cant change the voltage on it and support is nil so im still @ 433mhz)
128mb RAM
8.4gb Western Digital HD
GeForce 3 Ti 200 @ 220/500

By the way if youre wondering why i have a GF III in a crappy computer like mine is because i just bought it recently and haven't yet found the money to get a new CPU/mobo so i guess we all have to start somewhere :)

If youre wondering why you should care about this, the answer is you shouldn't im just wondering how my my 3 year old "coffee table" compares against others.

I dont know if there is a time demo or something for Wolfenstein to measure this, so all i can think of is to go into an open level like beach or assault on multiplayer and look from some viewpoint towards a big part of the level (eg. from the landing craft on beach towards the concrete bunkers on the hill) and tell me what kind of frame youre getting.

To activate it, in game press ~ to make the console appear (must have cheats enabled for this to work). Then type in "/toggle cg_drawfps" and up the top right hand corner of your screen if should say: FPS xxx.

Ok cool.

My FPS are really a heap of steaming dog **** and theres nothing really i can do about it (bar buying a whole new system).

Looking from the landing craft on beach towards the concrete bunkers on the hill i get about 10fps.
I get about the same looking from the vent (in SP) out at the runway on Assault. I get around 14fps standing on the rock ontop of the tower with the spiral staircase looking at the little tower in the distance on Escape 1 (SP). I can only get decent frames inside or near the edge of a level and this really pisses me off.

I'm a big RTCW fan running a P4-1.6 w/384M sdram and a GF2. I'll try your fps trick tonight and post what I get. With an older vc and a faster system, I'm curious to see what the differences are.

Thanks for the fps info...

if i look up towards the bunkers from the beach lvl, i get about 60fps. i can't get a totally accurate reading because it fluxuates so much. the best i can see, it goes from about 50 something to about 70 something so i figure about 60fps which isn't bad at all IMO. this is with all the pretty eye candy turned on and all the settings maxed out @ 1024x768x32.

System:
Duron 750 @ 1012 on
ASUS A7V266-E (KT266A chipset)
GeForce2 Ti @ 275/450 (VisionTek)
512MB DDR-RAM (PC2100)
WD 60GB HD (7200RPM and ATA100)
TDK 12x/10x/32x CD-RW
On-board sound
10/100 NIC
v.92 modem
Win XP Pro

I am looking at upgrading/buying a new system, maybe Athlon 2000+ 512mb RAM something like that. The CPU and others is really the bottleneck of my system, i can run RTCW at 1024x768x32 with everything turned up or 640x480x16 with everything turned down and i will get the same performance either way.

I looked up some stuff on Wolf the other day and found you can type /cg_lagometer and it comes up with a little graph of what kind of lag youre getting. I wish i had cable so i wouldnt have to worry about it but im still stuck with a 56k.

i currently have too copies of RTCW one illegal (not used) one full version. the copied version for some reason runs much sower than the Ful version??
I run RTCW managing what must be 50fps as it smooth transitions from start of game to where ive got too now

I get around 45 fps outside and about 100 inside the bunker on the beach invasion. I think it is a memory problem with you system. Your system memory (needs more faster ram) is the problem. Mind you my voodoo 5 has a horrible memory problem. Here are my specs

Xp 2000+ cpu
512 megs of DDR 333
Voodoo 5 5500
40 gig Western Digital hdd
Gigabyte Ga-7vrx mobo

I didn't even know there was a beach invasion on RTCW . . .
Maybe I don't play it enough or are you guys thinking of MOHAA?

Either way I get over 100FPS in both:D

In the multiplayer section. The beach is ok, but personally I like the Tram and my favorite is Market Garden. Holy cow what a map!

There really should be some sort of protection system on those trams, very dangerous!:D

At least you're not one of those ultramarooons with a flame thrower who end up burning their own team to the ground at each respawn.
