a friend of mine and myself have a little question going, how much do those slocket things cost?

Between $10 and $25 for the most part. Some of the $10 ones are not worth 50 cents though. There are some real junkers even going so far as to use tin contacts on the thing.

I've heard it's a good idea to buy the one made by your mobo's manufacturer.

I've seen a few of them, and the MSI one seems to be the best constructed.
