I have a Windows 98se platform and a 56k dialup modem i am wanting to get the latest version of the game halflife counterstrike sort of update ,it`s approximately 121mb and i cant download it in anyway as the time would be a awful lot and the connetion is no good to.my cousin can download this because he has unlimited cable internet access but the problem arises that again how can we transfer the downloaded files not through the net but the only available option is this in my view that he has usb connection, lan card, modem windows xp.i have modem USB and a 98se platform and i think through these options we can perform the transfer.my question to all of u is this what is the best way we can be able to transfer data by just connecting both systems sid by side.
P.S i have a ca810e board latter has a some 440ALX p2 board i think.

You'll need a USB Zip 250 drive or one of these:

You can't use a standard USB cable. You can, however, use a parallel DCC cable and DCC.

Hi, why don't you just place your HDD on the other computer?

It will save you a lot of time i think.

Does your cousin have a CD Burner? This would be the easiest way, if it is an option.

Some places might let you use a machine with a good connection and a CD burner.

The Library woud be a good place to start. CD's are down to 30 cents a pop in bulk, and you can easily get the file on one.

P.S. Don't tell them (at the library) it is for a game, you may not get far. I'd say, "I need to DL the latest patch for NT4 and burn it to a CD, can you help me." If they leave you alone with the machine, then go for the Goods.
