I've recently been introduced to the world of peer to peer filesharing.
having tried it for myself, i'm now beginning to see the possible pitfalls that await the unwary.
porn and virii are abundant on the various networks, but the programs to be "Illegally" had are numerous.

My question is.. is there anyway to justify the use of such "free-for-all" networks, or am I becoming a dork with age?

I don't see the "dork" option in the poll... ;)

That'll be the "Keep on Downloading" option

I feel it is ok for trial purposes provided there is not a full working trial of said program and nothing more. If you try it and like it then buy it. If you don’t like it delete it. I wasted too much of my hard earned money on crappy software in the past.

I don't use any of those p-2-p apps like kazza etc..

Touché :D

I agree with jad, there's a grey area too, not just do it or don't. As is often said though, programmers do deserve to eat as well. OK, most of them do anyway :p
