The first TELEPORTATION was established in ANU !!!

The Australian National University established an experiment which teleported the laser light from one place to another.
This is a great achievement and great jump for human science. The international conference dedicated to it will be held in Moscow this week.
This experiment has wonderful capabilities of being used at optical computers being millions times faster than up-to-date ones, in dramatic increase of the data exchange speeds and 100% security of data.
The next encounter is to teleport an atom. If this will be solved - the transportation of a human body or another object will be available.

The down side...
Wonder if the buggy whip and horse blanket makers saw the end of their industry when the first "horseless carriages" rolled out?

If "transporters" do become technically and economically feasible, it is the end of the airline industry as we know it. Anybody own stock in United or British Air? How about UPS and FedEx? :x

Just in case this technology does become more advanced and its use widespread, I'm starting a petition to ban Microsoft from ever having anything to do with it. Imagine waiting hours to be teleported down the road when it should take seconds, then once you get there you find that an "undocumented feature" has resulted in you being teleported into someone's hedge :D

No, I think I can assure you that most of those in the horse and buggy business believed the 'horseless carriage' was a fad, and would never take the place of the normal mode of transportation.

I knew one man long ago, that had made a lot of money buying and selling...anything, he made most of his money in a buggy business. When the first horseless carriage hit the streets, he was asked to include these in his business...his reply?..."No, these things will only ruin a businessmans reputation, They will not last 6 months." He lost his a** in the carriage business after that. The first motorcars were loud, scared horses, kids and ladies. The average dude on the street is comfortable with status quo, no change to what he knows will work.

They reckon that in a couple of years they will be able to teleport an object. Not bad for a little aussie ingenuity. To think that this sort of research happened not a hairs breadth from where I work! Well done ANU!
