I think santa is going to bring one for Christmas. If you have one,how do you like it? Any problems/gripes about it?
I was thinking of getting a TiVo unit but got turned off by the 9.95/month for the service, where replay is free. Any input greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Mp

EEEEKK!! Thanks for the link, canit.
It kinda sounds like Divx's cousin with the"I'll rat out my owners viewing habits to my creators" feature. The one I was interested in was a Panasonic recorder that uses replaytv's menu system. It would mostly be for my fiance to record her shows and for me to catch some motorcycle racing on speedvision that I miss because of my wacko work schedule. Do you know if they will continue to provide service, or will they cease operations all together?

From the looks of the article, they just got out of making the hardware.. Thanks for the info... Mp

I'm with you on some unknown source compiling stats on my viewing choices-the only Big Brother I like has Janis Joplin in front and the Holding Co. behind it. I was thinking of buying one, but I think I'll hold off until this gets sorted out. My advice, wait. These PVR's will have much more storage capacity next year, and until then there's the good old vcr(with 12:00 flashing and all).

I picked up a TiVo Phillips B4 Xmas they were like under $100 pretty small Hard drive only records 14 hours! Yikes That is all I needed though to get hooked. You can try tivo and not be in it for very much $ $10 a month.

If I'm not mistaken, couldn't you buy one of the cheaper models and stuff a bigger HD into it, such as a 75GB IBM? That would be really cool. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
