It has been a while since I have built a new computer and the technology has changed quickly. I would like to know what motherboard, ram, and CPU I need for a new system. I dont want to spend a lot so I figure I will go AMD. I know ZERO about AMD. I have never used it. I dont want to overclock at all. I also need a compatible motherboard and memory. I dont want to spend a lot. I figure $80 for MB MAX and $100 for Proc. MAX.
I need:
Mother Board: ___________
CPU: ___________
RAM: ___________
P.S. Please recommend Intel stuff as well as AMD

Oh...if a low noise level is important, Intel is the better choice.

Yeah if you want good performance and cheap get a AMD for sure!
The duron 1gig (morgan) and mobo combo, if you search you will find for about $120 that includes shipping! Check price watch and stuff you'll be amazed.;)

Those links are cookie-dependent. Go to MWave and check the bundles.

if your not overclocking and want it cheap go with the athlon xp.
choose wichever is in your price range at http://www.pricewatch.com and that bring up the lowest price but i would look if the vendor is good might want to pay a little more as not to get a rip off or something.
since your going amd best bet is to get ddr ram. and as for the motherboard go to http://www.motherboards.org/rank/AMD/total/motherboard-rank.html to find out bechmarks and other info on amd motherboards.
yeah im going to build a comp soon so i been doing some research as well.

yeah where going to build 2 amd 2000 + systems and maybe one p-4 system (because had some rd ram laying around)
the amd systems im thinking of getting them from http://www.googlegear.com/jsp/ProductList.jsp?ThirdCategoryCode=031601 and add in some harddrives and video cards to fill up the system. because they are bare bone systems. and they come with the Asus A7V333 motherboards.
yeah i thinking getting the p-4 from them too but i saw the price at 1100 some dollors for the bare bone p-4 system but now its 1200 something guess i should of striked while the iron was hot. :(
