How do these PCI controller cards work? If all of the IDE channels on my mobo are used up, would this controller allow me to add more(UDMA/100)IDE devices?

These cards add two channels capable of two drives each.

Which should I grab to update my Promise ATA100 "stuff" ? I have a 5400/ATA66 drive, it should work with the Promise IDE connector right? So do I upgrade the BIOS or the driver or both?

rh71 ~ If you have the Ultra100 card, there probably is no need to update either the BIOS or the Driver unless you are adding a new device or OS that is not already supported.
