Where on a M/B can you find who makes it or what kind it is?
Have a M/B with a VIA VT82C686A chip on itand that's it. It also holds a Socket 462 CPU.:(

Take a trip to http://www.motherboards.org and check out the utilities in the Mobo Tools/Mobo ID Tools menu. They've got a forum dedicated to this kinda thing too. Obviously not a patch on SysOpt's :D

If you can find a model or serial number on the MB than type it in as a google search. I have done this with 100% success

Write the BIOS string that is displayed during the POST if it goes by too fast hit pause to stop the boot process so you can have time to write hit any key(space bar) to resume the boot. Type it in a google search and the resaults should give you the info that you need
