Got a water cooling system or a Volcano now and don't know what you should do with that stock fan? I'm thinking that this might work, but try to put it on your video card GPU! if it doesn't fit, apply some force, or use some screws to screw it into place. Have anyone try this already?

I took two fans off my Thermaltake Volcano 6CUs today (nolonger in use) and used old PCI hole thingy covers bent to be flat and drilled to hold the fans to make video and pci card blowers out of them. BTW, I had to use my dremel to remove them because the screws are crappy and got stripped because I am poor and can't afford a proper screwdriver for it (lololol). When I was dremeling the aluminum got so hot that I burned myself twice, and the dremel cut through the plastic like it was butter (no joke lol).

Melt glue will do the trick.

Yeah, you can take your stock hsf from your cpu and modify it some to put onto your video card, but some just don't want to fit. Grentarc mentioned using it to cool a Northbridge chip and that's a great idea if you don't have any active cooling there. A lot of the older mobos just have a passive heatsink or nothing at all.
If you don't feel like fooling around with so many tools, you can take a look at purchasing a Thermaltake's Crystal Orb or a Blue Orb as they make for good, active cooling on either the Northbridge or the video card.

my friend used my Arctic Silver Thermal Epoxy to attach the HSF... that stuff is almost as good as Arctic Silver in heat transfer... but a billion times stronger than frag tape!

Another good use is to use it either as a hardrive cooler, mounted directly on the hardrive with hotglue or poxy, or drill a side panel hole on rt side of case and install to blow cool outside air onto hardrive. Also could use to install,it on the left side panel, blowing cool air into the cpu/hs fan, memory, or nothbridge.
