Got this Soltek Sl-75drv5 mainboard, with 1600 amd athlon processor,256 memeory,40gig HD using W98SE.This is 3rd computer I've built. Problem is when I start up it frequently locks up,if say I just check my email or go yo one paticular website I go to regularly.Alot of times it says system is busy or illegal program. Then I restart, and problem goes away.May have to do the restart a couple of times before works O.K.I deleted all programs from starting up using msconfig, but no help. With this much computer power, seems odd it would do this with no other application running.I use Netscape 6.2.

What kind of RAM are you using? This sounds like the RAM can't handle the bus speed. Or possibly one of the upper memory regions of the RAM module is bad.

If this is a new memory sitck, I would take it back or take it and have it tested.
