help!

the deal is i got a motherboard from a friend to replace my old one. it's a FIC VA-503, with an AMD k62 500mhz processor. i installed it now when i boot, after detecting hard drives, it says "conflict I/O ports: 378 2f8 3f8". i loaded bios and setup defaults, but it still does it. when entering windows i get the no mouse detected warning.

Any ideas?

When you installed the new mobo , you didnt uninstall the old configuration so Windows is cofused. If you open Device Manager in Safe Mode you'll probably see yellow! or redx 's .
I would recommend you Reformat and Reinstall Windows for reliablity reasons. However, you could try removing everything in Device Manager and Windows should reinstall your current hardware correctly if PNP O/S is enabled in you Bios Setup.
Just highlight Computer and select Remove , say yes and restart. Be sure PNP O/S is enabled in Bios Setup. Regardless, update all your device drivers , incl. the mobo's afterwards . *Be sure to backup to data you need.
