ZoneAlarm Pro and irc ?

I have allowed the irc program to act as a server and granted it full access through zonealarm, but i still have problems starting irc unless i shutdown zonealarm while it connects and joins all the channels, then i can restart it.

any ideaS ?

What's the point of it being on if you allow all these ppl to go through your HD? It won't be able to tell a difference between a hacker or someone just browsing. I havent used it much, so I don't remember the exacts.
