A rookie question, but here goes.
How do I add / delete items to my system
tray so they auto start. A lot of **** that my kids load up are popping up on start up and I want to get rid of them and maybe add some of my own. Win 98 SE
Thanks
GPo
Thanks Roy,
I canceled the ones that I don't want.
How do I instruct the path of some that I want upon start up ?
GPo
Open up the appz and look under options (may be phrased as preferences) should be a option you can check off; load on startup, another for show icon in taskbar.
appz ?? what is this & where is it.
Sorry, I guess I am a real rookie.

Appz = the application you want to start up..in other words go to options in the program that you want to start and set startup from in there

Also, if you can't find anything in the preferences about the program loading on start-up then you can do this:
If you want something to launch at start-up then just drag it's icon into the Start-Up folder. The Start-up folder is, naturally, in the Start Menu.
OK, here's the whole story. I am finally running my Cel II 566 at 850. I have set up the bus to 100 on Soft FSB 1.7/g1. The settings are saved on SoftFSB, but I have to execute it on start up by clicking on it. Windows still starts at 566 mhz until I execute SoftFSB. I want it to start automaticaly in the system tray.
There is no option for this in the SoftFSB program. I looked in "Start" - "Settings"
- " Taskbar & Start Menue " but this does not appear to allow me to add to rhe system tray. I'm looking in the wrong place.
I dragged the SoftFSP Icon to the Start menue. It is now on the start menue list.
I'll know here right away if it will start.
Thanks

Just so you're sure, you have to place that shortcut into the Startup Folder, which is listed under Programs on the Start Menu. For example: if you want Microsoft Word to start everytime you start your computer, all you have to do is either copy or drag the MS Word icon on the desktop into the "StartUp Folder" and Word will launch as soon as Windows finishes loading.
Thanks Fingers,
Got it now.
Thanks to you all.

In the Run menu, type msconfig <enter>. In the Startup tab, uncheck the things you do not want started.
