I currently have the Asus 7700 geforce 2 (64 megs of video ram). I am currently looking to upgrade my graphics card (being as I'm unemployed and it is the stupid thing to do, but hey more time to game) any how i was curious about which card is the best on the market, i was looking at the ASUS V8460Ultra GeForce 4 Ti 4600. Is this a good choice, what would you suggest?

thank you

Not for an unemployed
It's a "top notch" card, however, it really depends on your existing hardware and BUDGET.
Ti4200 might be better suited for your needs, as it's a "true" GeForce4, slightly slower then Ti4400/Ti4600 but still a great performer with possibly good o/cing capabilities.

Yes tellling us your system spces would best help us find a card for you. Also what kind of games to you play. Do you like 2d or 3d games better as different cards have better 2d or 3d.

Hate to do this but here is that good old chart for Tomshardware comparing the cards.

For 933MHz P3 Ti4600 would be waste of money, it needs about 1.5GHz CPU to begin unleashing its potential.
GeForce3 Ti200 would be good (expect about 2x performance boost in 3D apps - I moved from GF2Pro to GF3Ti200, 1GHz T-Bird).
GeForce4 Ti4200 would be ideal :)

Get a Geforce 3 ti 200 or a Geforce 4 4200. Like ND said.

I would go with the GeForce 3 ti. Much better results for your money with your current CPU.

Go for the Geforce3 ti200.

You might consider a Radeon 8500, standard or LE. The performance matches and sometimes exceeds that of the GF3, with better 2D quality to boot. ATI has gotten flack for their drivers, but they are a lot better now.

But if you wish to stick with Nvidia, I too vote for the GF3 Ti 200.
