Hm, I installed the new ati 8500 driver (wme-radeon-4-13-01-9039-efg) and ran 3dmark 2001...the score was -200 then with the old driver witch i installed from the org. cd.

Now im running the old driver (4.13.9003) :D

How can this be true ?

this happenes, maybe depends on your video card manufacturer, is it ATI or some other card?

I know i had the same experience with my geforce 2 card when newer drivers brought worser results or sometimes didnt even want to work.

Stick with drivers that give u best results

(btw make sure AA is turned off cause it decreases performance)

Sometimes quality comes on expense of speed. I prefer it that way.

AA = Anti Aliasing
Can be adjusted via Display Properties/Advanced.
