I have problem running 3D game with that motherboard PC-Chips 599LMR config AMD K6-2 450Mh : 192 M ram.

I am using the chipset on the motherboard.

I think it is pushing it too much.

Therefore I would like to install a video card in one of the free PCI slot

Apparently nothing in the manual to desactivate the video chip, but according to a tip on the net that it would be pssible via a Bios set up.

But other confirm that this is impossible to do.

Before bying a card wich may end up in the wastebin I would like to have a confirmation

ANYONE with effective experience regarding a video card running on that MB ???

Thanks a lot anyhow
:D

First of all note that a fast graphics card also requires a fast CPU, else it'd sit there twiddling thumbs most of the time, waiting for geometry data to come in.

Then, the 599's onboard VGA doesn't disable. It's multi-display capable. In BIOS, you get to choose whether this one or your PCI add-on becomes the primary display, and that's it.

Best PCI graphics card currently out there: PowerColor's Radeon 7500LE. Dual heads, DVI+TV+CRT, 64 MBytes DDR-RAM, no fan.
