Before I start offering advice:
Is this connector running from the Power Supply to the motherboard?? If so, is it an AT or an ATX power supply? To me, P8 is one of the two connectors that run from the power supply to an AT motherboard.

This is apparently unused in my system...what is it for? (BTW, this is a 2 wire-black and purple- 3 pin connector).
