If I have neighbors that don't use cable and I live in the 100k range of the DSL station. I need it for playing games on the internet, so lag and pings are very important. I hope this helps but depending on your location to the server will depend on your ping times!! If you dial up now you can get a pretty good idea of the pings for DSL as they all go through the phone lines. As for cable I have got NO CLUE!!
