I'm still waiting on my PC1066 RDRAM since it is on backorder so a friend let me borrow some of the PC800 from his machine while he's away. I have the Asus P4T533-C and a P4-2.26 with the 533mhz bus. The memory I currently have is Kingston. Is it worth trying to run the memory at 1066 or is there a way to use the faster bus speed but keep the RAM at 800? Thanks.

Try toggling the RDRAM setting to x4. I'm not sure if this will work but you can download a copy of SIS Sandra to confirm what your memory is running at in Windows.

Also, be sure to check out the P4T533-C sticky note in the motherbaords forum.

If I toggle the setting to x4, won't that put the memory clock up to 1066? Will the 800 be safe at the higher speed?

Woops, misunderstood your question. I'm pretty sure that upping the bus will also up the RAM. Thats what SIS Sandra indicated to me anyway. I have heard that PC800, especially quality RAM like Kingston does well at 1066.
Don't think you can do either or.

Cool, I'll give it a shot at 1066. If it's unstable I'll just keep everything at the lower speed until the faster memory gets here. Thanks.

Fritz44, I have one more question on the P4T533-C. There are 3 different power connections on the motherboard. The square one in the center, the usual ATX connector on the side, and then a 4 pin connector slightly behind the ATX connection. Do I need to plug in all 3? This is different than any board I've ever done before. There has always been only the single ATX connection. Thanks.

No you don't have to plug in all 3. You don't need to connect anything to the 4pin as long as your power supply is P4 compliant, i.e. has the ATX and the 12V connector (small square one). The 4pin is for older PSUs that aren't P4 compatible.
