I have a Dell Dimension 8100 with a 1.3 pentium 4 chip. What is the highest I can go up. 2.0Ghz???

Easiest way to tell is to read your motherboard manual. If you don't have one, you should be able to find the specs on the motherboard at www.dell.com.

I think it all depends on the speed of your FSB.

First of all, is it a socket-423 or -478? If it's the former, you better hurry because these processors have been discontinued a while ago.
