I recently purchased an asus a7n266 motherboard with an amd athlon xp 1900. Not able to shut down completely. When I choose shutdown from winxp it goes through all the proper screens. I can hear it shutting down, but the fans are still running and the monitor is locked in to the "windows is now shutting down" screen. The only way I can shut it down properly is by pressing and holding in the power button. When I turn on the pc its fine, no disk scanning or errors, goes right in to xp with no problems. I have updated the bios, and all drivers. At this point its a clean install with only a 60g hard drive, cd-rom and floppy installed, along with linksys usb nic, and linksys 4 port router. Does anyone know the proper settings in the bios to allow proper shutdown ?? Asus's website is a great help...NOT. I have sent them an email but still have not heard from them.
Thanks in advance
