Hi
Could someone give me some info on a mb with these numbers on it, p/I-p55tzp4. I am not much good at the p/n yet. It appears to be a good board. Has four pci slots and 3 isa slots. It has a socket 7 cpu support but from what I have been reading it appears it can support nearly all cpu's. Loaded with memory. Has four slots. I haven't gotten them out yet as it appears to have some type of latch on them. Could you give me a hand on that too. I dont want to break something.
Thanks

I think its a ASUS Motherboard , P/I - P55T2P4. Her's some links , take a look and see if it matches up.

Its amazing what Google can find.

Looks like it... It Socket 7 cpu's only. Pentium Classic or the AMD K6II or III maybe.

The memory are SIMMS , here's a link for installation.

Have fun!:t

That is an ASUS for sure. The T2P4 was the first motherboard with 83mhz bus on it. Very solid. I had one a few years ago and it was great. You should be able to run up to a K6-III+ but you'll need to get a patched bios. The K6-III+ also uses a 2.0v core, but there is a way to jumper the board for that. Look at this link to learn more about the patched bios.

:t Hi again guys
I have been looking half the day for the battery so I can get rid of the password. My kind sister-in-law forgot it. Can anyone help. I am still going over all the info you sent and thanks a bunch. Maybe I will stumble over it in time.
Thanks

The battery is a black retangular box that looks like a piece of lego with no bumps. you can either use a jumper to reset the cmos or you can use killcmos to clear it out. You can download killcmos here:

Cool link and utility, Midknyte , a keeper.

If for some unusual reason killcmos does'nt work , then the 3rd link above is the manual. Look to section 3.4 , pg. 8 , regarding Real Time Clock Ram ( JP7 ) . Instructions are easy to follow.

hi Guys
It is me agine with the asus P/I P55t2p4 2.1 version. I have gotten a lot of info from your links. I may have gotten to much as I am starting to get confused. Could you help me out with the memory. It has the two L2 caches for a 512KB size. It does not have a tag sram upgrade but the socket for it. The info in the manual seems to say it will take four 64 MB to total 256 MB. It does not have the pipeline burstlevel 2 cache expansion slot. What should I put in it. It has a mixture of 16 and 8 edo modules in it but I haven' pulled them out yet, and don't know if I will. Software indicates 40 MB of ram. My sister-in-law is going to pay for this one.
Thanks for any help you can give

You're going to probably be able to get it up to 128. 64mb edo simms are kinda hard to find, and if you do find them, they're so expensive that it ain't worth it. even 32mb edo simms might be kinda pricey. see if you can scavenge some ram. i don't think it's worth buying edo simms.

I don't know if you can even find those old COAST (cache on a stick) modules anymore.

Hi Me agine
Can I put the 64mb ram in without changing anything. I have searched e-bay and they run about $30 a pair. Can I get away with two pair or am I limited to one pair. I can upgrade the cpu to 200 for about $15 bucks, could not belive that price. It sure is more than that at a used store here in town.
Thamks very much for your help with this.

If you can get the parts, cheap that's cool.

You can change just 1 pair if you want. you can keep the 2 16s and add 2 32s for a total of 96MB of ram. you don't need to change anything. the board will auto detect the new ram.

when you put in the new cpu, make sure you have the right jumper settings. 3x66mhz for a P200. :D
