That is a huge drive. I can remebr when I thought my 1/2GB hard drive was a monster. Back when games were only 2 or 3 megs. but is seems like now games are catching up to the hard drives. 1GB for a game is a lot. I look forward to ram drives.

Myst II came on DVD 3 years ago. It was 4 CDs in that format! MOHAA, Max Payne and Undying were over 650MB installed. All of those textures take up space. What's really remarkable is that these game developers can compile all of that **** in one lifetime! :p The other remarkable fact is that the drives look pretty much the same, inside and out, but are 200x or more larger than 8 years ago.
They will get bigger - no doubt, but it still takes time to fill 120GB!

i hate buying hard disk nowadays the prices are too low belive it or not. Heres what i mean
10GB = 38
15GB = 45
20GB = 50
30GB = 65
so where so u stop. whats the point of getting 15gb when an extra 5 is only 5quid more and it goes on and on to eventually u spend £100's
and i have used tons of space from juyst games.
Blade Runner 1.3GB
Myst 2 (riven) 500MB
Myst 3 (exile) 2.3GB
Homeworld 1.3GB
STV elite force 800MB
MOHAA 1.5GB
and thats just the populasr ones i have my digital pics to add to that aswell and they take up around 10GB for a album of 1000. So i have used 22GB of my disk

It blew me away when we reached 100g drives and already, 120g drives have shown up with no end in sight. Actually, higher and higher capacities will demand a switch to different hard drive technologies. But in anycase, I went a bit crazy and bought two 100g WD hard drives and put them into a Raid 0 array. I realized something then, I now have 200 gigs of hard drive space to fill. Folks...that is two hundred gigabytes of space. Blimey!! :eek:

****. I remember when 8gb drives came out. That was like 5 years ago. Now we're up to 160GB drives. That's a 2000% increase!! I wonder how big drives will be in another 5 years....

If my math is still good (actually, it never was!), figure 4 hours using FDISK. It should be a bit quicker thanks to UDMA, but you should go out for dinner! LOL!
Partition Magic will do it much faster - maybe 30 minutes. I would only create as much partitioned space as I would need that day.
:p
