dsl modems

my friend was originally using a cisco dsl modem/router and a thunderstorm burnt it out

they gave him a speedstream modem/router and he says it gives him trouble when he tries to play games online

are there any dsl modems that you guys recommend?

I have heard that Speedstreams are pretty good. Cisco would be one of the best. PM Ankerson. He knows some things about this:

make sure all protocols are installed and working. The router may be faulty also.
