When I got my new case, the switch on the PSU was set at 220. For fear of frying something, I set it at 110. Is it safe for it to be set at 220?

System specs: (so far)

Abit KT7
Duron 700
Diamond Viper II 32 meg
Codegen 6000P case w/250 watt PSU

Currently on a borrowed HDD.
But I'm looking into an IBM 7200rpm HDD
and a SB Live value

It really depends where you live, here in England our mains electricity is at 220. In the US it is at 110.

You MUST set the PSU to the correct voltage for your country.

Hope that helps.

If your voltage is 110v, the switch won't damage the PSU, it just shouldn't work at the 220v setting.

If your voltage is 220v, and the switch is at the 110v setting, Boom, new PSU required please!

All the best, Justy.

Well, I'm in the U.S., so It's a good thing I did switch it to 110. Thanks for the replies. Never knew before why there were two setings.
