I have to back up my friends laptop onto my computer. Her laptop is running windows me. I have a dual boot of XP and ME. I also have a copy of laplink 2000. I would like to know how i could connect these two computers using an ethernet cable and laplink in order to transfer files between them quickly. Or is there another way without using laplink that i could do that. I sort of remember a way to make one computer the host and the other computer logs onto the host computer and then u can share files that way but i can't remember exactly how to set that up. Any info would be great

Thanks
Micahel

i think all you would need is a ethernet pc card, if the laptop doesnt already have ethernet

If you are going to connect the 2 computers without a hub, you'll need a crossover cable instead of a regular patch cable.
