In a case like this you are best to strip away everything that is not needed to boot the machine. Disconnect the Floppy & Hard Disk cables. Remove all Cards except the Graphics. A machine that doesn't post will usually be: 1] Memory chip not in correctly (or duff) 2] Graphics Card not in correctly (these cards need a firm push at the back) 3] The CMOS jumper (if the board has one) is set to discharge CMOS. Some new motherboards come like this as standard to save battery life while in the box. Hadibo 06-07-2002, 11:07 AM I know the feeling. My problem was caused by not setting the correct jumper settings for the cpu clock speed. 133 instead of 266. As easy as that!! Good luck. schubydog 06-07-2002, 11:08 AM There are now beeps, just sits there staring at me Bellbus 06-07-2002, 11:21 AM The sequence of bleeps can isolate the problem. Try giving a description. eg. 3 rapid beeps then pause schubydog 06-07-2002, 11:27 AM figured it out, comp was trying to boot off of hard drive, switched boot sequence, things going ok SysOpt.com
