I currently have my DVD's playing from my computer to my TV through the tv-out on my voodoo 3 3000, but I get this annoying band of low contrast constantly moving thorugh the screen.
Anyway, I was thinking of getting a hardware decoder card, as the voodoo 3's tv-out with the dvd isn't the best.
I would pretty much be shopping for the top of the line decoder card, I just want to know a few of the features that I should look for / be wary of.

Any general commenst on DVD hardware decoders would help as well.

Cheers,

Pat.

If a cable swap(or reconnection) doesn't clear up the video interference ATI's vivo cards(radeon, rage fury pro etc) produce a great picture. For a dedicated hardware card check out Utopia's dvd motion. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif www.ati.com (http://www.ati.com) www.utopia.com (http://www.utopia.com)

Does your TV have video in? or are you going through a VCR?

I have a Sigma Designs Hollywood Plus myself and it works great... no complaints whatsoever. I think $75 would be a bit high for it> Should be easy to find around $50.

I got the hollywood plus too, and I think its great, Nice clear images. Are you using the latest drivers with your card, or is it a known problem with those?
