I'd your opinions on this system before I buy the parts. I need it to be as stable as possible, business computer, 2D apps. mainly.

MSI K7T Pro2-A Board
900Mhz AMD Thunderbird
Matrox G450 32MB Video Card
30 GB IBM 7200RPM Deskstar
Plextor 12x10x32 CD-RW
Toshiba DVD-Rom
128MB Crucial Memory
Optiquest 19" Q-95 Monitor
Windows 98 SE
Enlight 7237 Case 300 Watt Power

Thanks, Matt

The Abit KT7a raid mobos just hit pricewatch. It might cost more than the MSI but being able to run at 133 mhz should make for a lot of fun. Some people are getting 145 mhz. Imagine, the memory is at twice that speed. woo hoo.

Nice specs ! But go for either an Abit or Asus m/board. With the price of RAM at the moment, get yourself 256 Mb as well.

Might save some money and room byt getting one of those combo DVD/burners that just came out. But thats up to you. I would get them separete too though. Good set up. Maybe a little overkill for a stable business computer, but hey, sysopt wouldn't be here withouth overkill now would it?

The MSI is arguably the best socket7 board out there, good choice.

I'd opt for a sharper monitor. Reading "fuzzy" text all day can do a number on your eyes. Look for something with .25mm diagonal dot pitch if you're budget allows. (the q95 is .27mm)

I'm assuming there must be a reason you wouldn't go with win2k for a business computer...

Thanks for the advice. This computer will also do duty as my home computer so I have to go overboard a little. I would like to get the price down, but it's hard to do (especially when I can write it off as business expense). I've heard some gripes about the newer windows op.sys. but have no experience with them. I've had zero problems with windows 98 so I guess I'll stick with it.
