There are DVD writers that can burn CDRWs, but not the other way around. CajunMan 06-06-2002, 07:10 PM Thanks, thats what I thought, but just wanted to check. $1500-P4 gamer 06-06-2002, 07:29 PM If its on the PC just use divx 5.02 Its almost dvd quality! Just its alot smaller size on disc which is the prob. with dvd format. Its mpeg2 and it will be like 4.6+ gig! The same on divx is like 750mb or so depending on the compression options you use. If you want to use in standalone player then you can recompress it into .mpeg which is vcd format and make a vcd disc, though it will be on 2 cd's instead of one due to the final compresion size. You get about 72-80minutes per disc in this method.;) couch potato 06-08-2002, 05:11 PM you can find one on those things in a mac:) otheos 06-09-2002, 02:02 AM I am not sure what you mean.. A CDRW will not burn on anything but CDR/W discs. It wil also only read such discs unless it is a DVD Reader combo. However you can make a DVD-ish quality movie on a CDR/W disc using your CDRW burner that will play on a set top DVD. This is a VCD or SVCD, and it is a video format cd (think of it as audio cd). You can convert DVD movies (you need a DVD rom to rip them to your hard drive) to SVCDs and play them on your set top DVD player. You can make menus and chapters etc in an SVCD. SVCD's quality is not DVD, but it's still MPEG2 and looks vastly better than VHS. You can check www.vcdhelp.com for all your questions. SysOpt.com
