Looking to buy a new sound card with digital ports to take advantage of my 5.1 speaker set. Looks like I can get an SB Live for about $50-$60. Aureal sq2500 looks about the same. Is there a Turtle Beach or something else cheaper that I should consider? I play UT and others, but mostly I want it for watching DVDs. Thanks.

The Sound Blaster Live! Value is your best bet and can be found OEM for under $50 shipped.

You will need to get the Sound Blaster Live Platinum to utilize the SPDIF IN / OUT features. Sound Blaster Live Value Pack doesn't come with the Audio Bay Rack, so you it doesn't have any SPDIF jacks.....

I know that a companay called Midiman (www.midiman.net) does high quailty soundcards at very good prices. I picked one up yesterday that sounds the bollox.
