A friend has a work computer with win nt installed. It has no sound card. He wants to be able to play wavfiles. I know there is a program for win 95 to emulate a sound card and allow you to play wavfiles over the pc speaker. In fact, I've already directed him to the microsoft page that has it (he didn't tell me that he had nt), but there is nothing for win nt. Does anybody know where he can download a program that will allow him to do this on nt? Thanks!

I had played with that sound driver for quite a while, it had very poor sound output. Get a cheap sound card for him.

A cheap sound card is definitely the way to go. Unfortunately, he can't install/modify anything on his work computer without MIS approval and they won't approve that.

It's quite likely he needs administrator
privilege to install a "soft sound card"
program. You can try"spkqq", search it
online. I saw it before 2 years with another
soft sound program, they're discontinued for
obvious reasons.
