I have An Athlon XP 1700+, 768 MB RAM, GeForce2 Ti, but i want to run 3DMark99 MAX to get a rediculous score in something... I has a problem with me not having DirectX 6.1.. so i am not happy

I don't htink you can go back to a eariler version if you have a later version than 6.1

True..but maybe he got Dirextx 5 or somethin. then he got to get DX8.

Had this problem trying to run Rogue Squadron on XP Pro. Try running it in Compatibility Mode for Win9x.

actually... that doesnt work (compatibility mode).. and XP Pro comes with DX 8.1

3DMark99MAX cannot be run in WinXP... For some unknown stupid reason. Don't understand this.

That's too bad.

I just got Windows XP for my computer and wanted to try out 3dmark99 max to compare it with some of my "older" computers.

I guess now I will just have to try 2001 or something.
