I recently bought this Geforce 3 Ti 200 OEM at fry's. With the rebate it came out to under $80.00. Except now, my Duron 800mhz,768mb, 60GB, WinXp freezes up when I'm on-line playing Unreal Tournament. Sometimes at the start or midway between a game it just freezes. I've played it with the screen smaller and with some effects turned down. It worked ok then. But heck, my Kyro II did the job flawlessly with all effects turned on! I needed a card that supported T&L but Kyro did not support it. So that is why I purchased the Geforce card to begin with. It came with overclocking capabilities but I have not altered anything yet except I took off the heat sink and added a third party fan. All I did was use the double sided tape ( after I cleaned the cpu with acetone using a wooden ice cream stick ) and attach the fan. Did I screw that up maybe? What can it be? Any suggestions? My pc so far locks-up on me while playing a video game only. Other than that, all is fine. Thanks for any help. Laterz. :t :D :)

You said you took off the stock heatsink and added a third party fan -- do you mean a fan/HS combo or JUST a fan??

If so - NO!! - u definitley want a heatsink of some type on the GPU, then just stick the fan to the HS using some Epoxy resin (it works a treat :p )

Did you remove all reminants of the Kyro drivers from the OS before installing the new vid card?
This problem will occur if there are any mixing of video drivers in the system.
Kyro is not as picky as nVidia and ATI cards.
With these cards most people reformat and install a fresh copy of thier OS when changing vid cards.
