Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Dial up properties
I reinstalled Windows 2000 Pro and now I'm having trouble with my dialup connection.
Previous to this re-install I would click on my dialup connection and connect to the net , from there I was able to access Internet Explorer and my email via Outlok Express.
I can still connect the same way as mentioned above, but now when I open up Outlook Express, my connection is cut and the dialup connection box pops up again
I'm sure there's a way to resolve this through Outlook Express properties, but I'm not sure where to look to fix this problem.
Any suggestions ??
Thanks....................

Probably a different version of Outlook Express, but I believe it is a setting there that is causing the problem...look at the following screen shot.

Hey Bovon 1062 messages wow you must be popular with the ladies or somthing. ;) lol
Zak,
Have you tried the following:
In Outlook Express, click on Tools>Accounts, and in Internet Accounts, Mail tab, highlight the email account you are having problems with. Click on the Remove button, and then go through the Add process to re-establish your account.
You will need to know your Incoming Mail server (POP3), Outgoing Mail server (SMTP), etc.
I've had good results with this procedure, however, before removing the mail account I copied POP3 and SMTP pertinent settings, or, if I had doubts, obtained them from my ISP.
:t
Ahhhh... I found out what the problem was.
In the Outlook Express- tools- accounts- properties - connection I had the box marked that said - always connect using Local Area Network.
Thanks for the reply's
Grrrrrrrreat!!!!
Have a good day :t

"or somthing" is close, but then...on the other subject, I ain't complaining there either. I really need to go back thru those 1062 and keep anything important, and delete the rest. A lot of those are genealogy related too. Some of those will be printed...I got under the weather back about a month ago, and just downloaded mail, read it and quit...now I am way behind. Somedays, I get 200 emails plus.
BTW, you should see my desktop wallpaper. A lady friend who models for art photos sent me a few...I have them set as wallpaper. Remember back a couple of months ago when somebody had a poll going about what wallpaper everybody uses?...dangit...I couldn't submit a screenshot of mine!!
Have a great day...its later than you think!! ;)
