I am trying to use Drive Image with a Yamaha crw3200E-vk 24/10/40 and getting an 1805 error. Power Quest says that i need to set the AutoDetect in the cd-r/w bios to None.

how do I gain access to the BIOS of the CD-R/W?

it is set up on the secondary IDE as Master and the MB Bios is set to NONE for this controler.

What is happening is that when the CD is full Drive Image is suppost to stop and allow to change the disk but instead it comes up with an error indicating that the drive is full. Power Quest says this is because the AutoDetect is enabled in the CD-R/W bios causing Drive Image to think that it is fixed disk rather then removable media.

I have tryed this with an LG CD-R/W 24/10/40 and get the same thing.

Any Ideas?

Thanks,

Michael

They mean the motherboard BIOS - which you have covered.

Maybe they mean "Auto Insert Notification" instead?

Look on the Settings page for the drive in Device Manager.

Under start>settings>control panel>system>device manager>check to see if the cdrw has disconnect enabled, auto insert notification is off/unchecked (this has to be set this way or you get errors on inserting next disc, also hard on drive as it is trying to autorun blank cd's all the time.)and make sure that sync data transfer is on/checked! The Bios shouldnt cause it to think it is a non removeable media. ITs gonna know its a cdrom, just maybe not know its a cdrw which is negligable till windows boots anyhow. I dont think bios is the real prob. here. I think you have auto run on for the burner! Try these and let us know what you get.;)
