Windows would report free space on my HD always incorectly!!!!!!!!! I would have to run a scandisk on all parts of my partitioned drive (c, d, e, f, g) to fix problems in boot sector which causes windows to report free space incorectly!!!!!!! That's happenes after most of my space on HD is filled up.........is there is anything i can do to fix that error?

i used to get lockups and upon restart scandisk came up with incorrect free space..dont know if it's the same situation as you are in.however i seen a thread about a program called cache sentry.it has a bug fix for ie5.it's worth a try. http://www.mindspring.com/~dpoch/enigmatic/index.html
i swapped mobo's so maybe that's why, but i still use this and i havent had one lockup since.(make sure you get the cluster size correct)

When you shut down the computer, do you ever just turn it off without it completing the shut down procedure?
What size is your HD(s)? What sizes are the partitions?
FAT32? FAT16?
Which version of Windoze are you running?
What is the make/model of your motherboard?
Are you using the most current drivers for your motherboard's chipset?
